Yesterday morning Mike and I were traveling down the Freeway from Hood River going to The Dalles Oregon to do some errands. I am so happy to announce that our little bundle of joy has finally arrived "Gibbs," Our new French Bulldog puppy is here with us and adjusting to being loved and pampered quite well. We found a great little fawn French Bulldog with a black muzzle. He is absolutely gorgeous! Of course we have to wait to get him until the beginning of September. Another yucky fact about our area, though we don't have it on our property anywhere there is standing water in the high Prairie area up here Giardia is a big nasty risk. I was warned by the shelter where we got Marley that it is running rampant up here. I guess the wild animals carry alot of nasty diseases as well so we have to keep our babies very safe by making sure they have all their shots on time. It might not be a bad idea to check with your Vet or local shelter to see if you are in a high…

Our chickens were attacked in their cage the night before last and one was pulled one piece at a time through the 1.5 by 2 inch wiring. So my son sat up all night and caught the culprit red handed. It was a Raccoon. He shot it and I got up at 5 am not wanting it to be a total disregard for life and skinned it out for him. The move has been crazy and we are here doing the last of it. I absolutely positively love it there though. I have 21 chicks of various sizes. My little Grimm and soon I will have Sugar Toes "Sugar".

It was a very successful trip and we got alot accomplished. My main job is hand clearing a field. I am hand pulling and hoeing walking paths and huge garden spaces for our vegetable garden as well as flowers. I have hauled at least 20 huge wheel barrows full of grass and many more of rocks leaves and limbs as well as garbage that is mixed into it. Notice the suspect behind the car, apparently firing a gun - you see the smoke from the muzzle, and a split second later - the Shepherd Police Dog leaps across the roof of the auto, clamps onto the suspect, and brings him down so quickly - you'll watch it several times to really appreciate the valor of this dog.
