Thanks for the invite Colleen but I barely have time to write and don't think I can take on another thing right now, but the idea is tempting! And thank you and brutal jack (what a name! - I'd like to know the story behind that one.) for kudos - we all do our part.

I just found out about Spay Day USA, a series of events to help stop pet over population - it's through HSUS. If you go to humanesociety.org/spayday, you can find out where the FREE clinics are held in your areas. The target day is February 24 but they are encouraging things throughout the month. Margaret, I'm thinking of you, and, of course, all the rest of you caring critter folks. this event is for cats and dogs, maybe even rabbits and other critters! haven't checked.

Hi - Brand new to the group and glad to be here. I'm founder and director of CatVando, we work a TNR program (Trap Neuter Return) with street cats - usually returning them to their loving caretakers. Margaret, check your area (?) for low cost clinics. TNR is sweeping the country and so are low cost clinics. We pay $25 per cat for spay or neuter, vaccinations, microchip and eartipping - another place includes Revolution for just $1 more that takes care of fleas, ear mites and parasites. Our adoptable kittens are a bit higher - all above including the FELV/FIV TESTING for $51. When you say rescue, are you talking about street ferals (vs strays)? If so, and if you plan on returning them back to the street, be sure to get their left ear tipped. Too much to explain here. Just google Trap Neuter Return and you might be able to find someone in your area who can help. And, if you're going to keep them - watch out! You'll never be able to save them all and it won't be long before you'll be a bit coo coo taking care of so many cats - the litter pans alone will drive you nuts! On Monday, Dec 22, received a call about an emergency rescue due to foreclosure on a home. The rescue was 12 mostly unsocialized wolfdogs. Since then we have placement for 8 and 4 will be in foster care. Now the problem is transport from central Colorado to North Carolina. Believe, we have a man willing to do the transport for $1400 (which is only the fuel costs) and that is great news but so far only raised $125.00 not good news. Any ideas on a very very quick fund raiser? We need to get them out of there by next weekend or animal control will be coming to take them to euthanize them.

Karen please send photos of the female you told me about yesterday my husband is saying if he can get the perfect wolfdog he would just move to the farm sooner.
