Separation Anxiety

I need an opinion or two. A lady was all set to get one of my mother's puppies and then her vet told her it was a bad time to do it because her present dog has separation anxiety. I have always heard that the best thing to do in that case is give them a distraction. Wouldn't a buddy to play with while Mom is gone help? Once again I don't know it all.

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
