Why can't people mind their own business? The Bidens have every right to obtain their pet from a responsible breeder. Actually, that's how it should work all of the time.

There shouldn't be any animals in shelters or being killed by them. The fact that there are doesn't obligate anyone to adopt them. If other people would stop abusing and/or abandoning their pets, (and prevent unwanted breeding) there would be no animals in shelters. So place the blame where it belongs -- on the abusers and/or abandoners who cause the animal misery and make the need for animal shelters. That is where the shame lies.

To all of you who blame breeders (who are for the most part Honest in their trade):

Unfortunately that is like the police busting people for J-walking. You are looking for easy targets because the violators are difficult to find. Puppy mills do not put up ads that say "Hello, I am Mary...I have the largest puppy mill in the United States and we have a very large selection of sick and psychotic puppies to choose from. Please stop by at our inconvenience and choose one today!" ....HI I am Bob... I abandon 6 litters of unwanted puppies each year because my belief is that God made males with genitals and that is how they should stay...BTW I have ten kids a pregnant wife and no job but I will work for food or beer (depending whether I want to go home tonight.).....Hi, My name is Sharon I am trying to create new breeds but they aren't turning out quite right so I dump them at the nearest shelter.
These people do not announce what they do because they are the reason we have over population problems.

Ethical breeders are being more and more careful of their procedures and being more responsible to screen perspective families before placing their babies in forever homes. True it is never 100% sure but neither is tomorrow. At least we can have a good conscience about the probabilities. I hope the nut cases out there will learn when and where to choose their battles.
